How did you get started in the events industry?
Having always enjoyed putting parties and events together, I had the opportunity to plan my own wedding in October of 2000. This started my interest and I was able to help create a few other weddings and many corporate events for my job at the time. I pursued training in the industry and found a job at a winery in the bay area. This experience along with classes and training opportunities allowed me to pursue my own event planning business which I greatly enjoy.
What is your training and background?
I graduated with a business finance degree from Sonoma State University and immediately moved to a large financial company. From there I moved to the dot.com industry where I learned to manage many tasks at one time. Most of my on the job training happened during my four years as a wedding planner for a winery. I have taken classes and networked throughout the bay area, as well, all of which have secured my confidence.
What is your favorite aspect of wedding planning?
Your wedding day is such an exciting time for you and seeing a bride or groom's face light up at an idea that fits into their dream perfectly is one of my favorite things about the job. Making the suggestions that help create your vision and watching them come together on the day of your event is very enjoyable for me.
What can you do for me to make this process easier?
Most people do not plan large weddings or events very often, but I do! I can make it easier for you by keeping you organized, answering questions, narrowing down choices based on you preferences and saving you time and money.
Can hiring a wedding planner really save me money?
It can and it should! As a wedding coordinator, I have access to many discounts throughout the industry and can negotiate with many vendors on pricing. I also know the hidden costs associated with weddings, and can quickly find the least expensive options that make your dreams come true. Your time is valuable as well, and I can help make decisions quickly and efficently.
